the Pitch

Here is a fun filled little film I made with Lisa and Ilona, two very beautiful wonderful girls, and my dog Jackson. It was a mood clip for a pitch for a commercial to shoot in South Africa which I didn't get. You'd never believe the reason though. You'll have to wait for the book to come out for that one.

A new short film by Dziga Gaidai, famous Russian filmmaker who's first film, Te Kresevia, shot in 1904, turned the cinematic world on it's ear. Now 105 years later he releases his second film, all shot on an iphone. Ok so Jeth shot it. Anyway, here it is.

Danier The Making Of

It's always fun to show the making of something. When we weren't working we would grab a camera and just shoot all we were seeing. I cut this as a thank you to Jennifer and Johnny from Danier who made this wonderful trip possible. So I am here by asking everyone out there to go to Danier.com to order some great clothes for winter (or if you're in Canada just go to a store).

The Danier Special

What an awesome thing life is. Hard to believe I was able to travel to such a magical place to create such a lush and beautiful film with one of my best friends ever for such a wonderful company. Here's to Jennifer and Johnny and Jeffrey for having the vision to see it through and to everyone else at Danier who work so hard to make adventures like this happen. I'm still dreaming of icebergs floating by me in my sleep. This is the first of three films I made there and I doubt I'll ever get tired of watching them.

Jeth Weinrich is back from Orlando where he shot and directed this sixty second spot for Florida Natural Orange Juice. Here's not to only orange juice made right, but also, here's to a great crew, production managers, producers, and the wonderful people of Florida.

In New York

We've been shooting in NY for the last eight days for the World Of Ford film with such notable and iconic people as Arthur Elgort (the legendary photographer) and Rachel Hunter (one of the great Supermodels of all time). Next we film with Christie Brinkley and perhaps author Michael Gross. We're very excited to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel so to speak. But what was also a memorable time was watching little Jackson get to know and see New York. Some dogs just have that intangible that make them so special you know that someday a movie could be in the works about their misadventures, their character. I've never seen so many people react to one little puppy so much as the people of Manhatten did to Jackson. He is a little joy giver, from little kids to old adults, he made at least three hundred strangers smile and feel some love. If only we could all do that for each other all the time.... Anyway, he's barking at me. Time to leave the Soho Grand and take him for his morning walk....

Jackson's new friend

Ok, so we have a new dog. And, yes I know, everyone thinks their new dog is the cutest funniest dog in the world. And youtube is over run with such 'adorable' videos. Still, all that said, Here's Jackson with his new friend.

Chris Noth, Biotherm, Ford, and Diane Lang

Thanks to Diane Lang (our agent and also the president of Ford Canada) and Marie Josee Lamothe from Biotherm, Redworld had the great pleasure of creating a film about Chris Noth and his Biotherm shoot with Aldo Rossi. Chris Noth was as charming and fun as you might imagine, and as gracious and genuine as you would ever hope as well. It was a great day and he made it one we'll forever treasure. Here is the clip we created which is now playing on the Biotherm website.

Redworld Heads To Florida

Director Jeth Weinrich has been awarded a job to shoot one 30 second spot for 22squared out of Atlanta. Executive Producer Cathy Wilson put the deal together that will see Jeth travel to Lake Whales Florida to shoot an 'anthemic' style beautifully cinematic commercial for Florida Natural. To be shot on 35mm this spot will echo the kind of feeling his 2008 spot for Seeds2000 had, wonderful imagery, with a strong connection to the human condition.

Iceland the Photo

The two guys on either side, Runar Hreinsson on the left and Jon Thor Hannesson on the right, (I'm on the ground on the right in the blue shirt) were our 'guides' in Iceland. But let's face it, they were more than just guides. They were our old western scouts, the ones who could put their ears to the ground and hear the hoof beats of the horses of the Indians who were chasing us, their ears to the tracks and tell how far the train was coming. They could speak the language of the Apache and the Souix and new where to set our camp beneath the long dark night.

In some beautiful way they were the kind of guys who reminded me why I love the job I have. Runar was always winking at me, this tell tale sort of, 'I know who you are, and you're ok' sort of wink. And somehow through that wink I knew that I was ok even if perhaps I didn't know before. Jon Thor was wise like someone from a Lord of the Rings type story, a man who knew of the world but lived in a magical kingdom called Iceland. He brought us to the glacier of a thousand miles, he took us to the water falls of mystical crystal water, he showed us things, like the best bars in Reykevik to hang out in. But more than that, more than stories of Christopher Nolan filming Batman Begins, more than showing us where they filmed the scene where Batman hung from a cliff, he was just the coolest guy, like an Icelandic Clint Eastwood, but humble and deep. These men reminded me why I wanted to be a filmmaker, artist, whatever it is I am, when I started. They reminded me that there is a breed, often found in those that make things on film, who live this remarkable but simple existence, who know that this life is great in the weavings of relationships, and a man's word is his bond. More than the awesome and magical landscapes, bigger than the ever changing skies, I have to say that those two guys are the reason Iceland is a great and wonderful land. Those two were the best part of our trip.

Field Of Dreams

Redworld is happy to be a sponsor of the Hampton's Collegiate Baseball League. It's been a lot of fun getting to know the smaller finer details of what makes baseball a truly great American past time. Also watching games between some of America's finest collegiate athletes, some with big dreams of the big leagues, was a reward unto itself. We have been putting together a film and some smaller clips to help raise money, excitement (and even help in the recruiting of players for next summer's season). Here is a small example of our adventure so far. A work in progress, please excuse the raw unmixed sound etc. etc..

Iceland The Movie

Redworld went to Iceland. Here's a fun clip that shows some of what we were up to. Special thanks to Danier, Micon Worldwide, and of course the great Raphael Mazzucco for his beautiful ways. It was an adventure of a lifetime.

Redworld's New Star

Redworld proudly presents their new star 'Lukas Jackson Heeler'. Although a 'kid' actor at the moment Redworld anticipates that this 'troublesome' little fur ball will quickly grow to be a fine young major actor. Following in the footsteps of other great Blue Heelers (like Bill Heeler who found his way to fame on Conan O'brien and Rosie O'Donnel, Hard Copy and Inside Edition) we look forward to a lifelong friendship full of unexpected adventures and loads of love and laughter.

Sierra Noble in NY

Redworld announces completion of principle photography for Sierra Noble's new video for her upbeat fun filled new song 'Try Anything'. Produced for CMT and Maple Music it was shot in Montauk, the cornfields of Bridgehampton, the streets of Manhatten, and then with the Harlem Youth Choir in Harlem. This video is going to be 'sic', as director jeth weinrich explains. 'It's going to be groundbreaking' he says also knowing that all directors like to say that about their videos. 'Well, maybe not ground breaking, but it's going to be one very cool, alive with the celebration of the human experience, and made with a lot of love and hard work, video'. With producer Don Henze and his golden gift of getting things done, with his brother Chris Henze as the glue that held it together when it seemed to be breaking at the seams, with world famous stylist Inge Fonteyne sort of directing the video as well ('where have all my great ideas gone?', Jeth would yell whenever Inge left the set) and the ever so awesome Brennen DeMelo from L'Oreal Professionel doing hair (and lifting ladders, holding cameras, etc), and super talented and beautiful guy all around Bryan Zaragoza from Ford doing the make-up, maybe this video will break some awesome new ground.

The World Of Ford

The World Of Ford

What began as a five month project to create a biography style documentary about the Life and Times of Eileen Ford for Rogers Broadcasting and the Biography Channel, has now become an enriching one year experience into the full lush universe of Fashion, Beauty, Modeling, and the incredible history of Eileen and Gerry Ford. Slowly making our way towards completion stay tuned as we begin to share clips and a trailer from the project. How grateful we are to the relaxed patience of Rogers in Canada and indebted to the faith and trust Diane Lang and the Ford Modeling agency has showed us.

1000Days

Redworld begins the arduous task of uncovering the archives (280 hours of digital content) for a project that they have both looked greatly forward to and also dreaded in many ways as well. 1000days chronicles one man's journey into the deep dark entanglements, perceptions, and enlightenment of both addiction and recovery. It is a harrowing account that is based on one simple question: 'If you could send a letter back in time to the person you were the day before you smoked crack, what would you write?'. Here is the first in a series of clips designed to introduce the project to broadcasters, investors, and co-creators. More to come in the next few weeks.

Beautiful Deep

Redworld Media is proud to be producing an exciting project about a one of a kind artist, photographer, and human being. It is safe to say that Raphael Mazzucco is a rare breed, an exceptional talent, and a man who's life has certainly exceeded his dreams. Although he hangs with a world of people from Bono to Dr Dre, from Benicio Del Toro to Pamela Anderson, and even though he photographs the most beautiful women in the world (he has been awarded the cover of Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit edition an unparalleled three times) he is still that wonderful kid from Canada, who has never forgotten that people matter, that friends are everything, and love conquers all. Here is a 'sketch' from our upcoming film 'Beautiful Deep' which is still in production. Please visit our sister site www.redworldeditions.com to buy his limited edition book 'Collected Art'. It truly is a masterpiece.

Can The World Save Me

Here is one of Redworld's favorite clips. Shot in NY it reflects the true nature and inner workings of the hearts and minds at Redworld media.

danier spring clip

Soon Danier will be putting up the new clips we shot in Iceland but here's the link to the film Redworld and Ford Digital Media produced and directed for Danier's fall line. Danier is an awesome company to do work for, daring and brave enough to try new things when many in this economic climate choose to retreat. We really appreciate all they are.

Raphael Mazzucco in Iceland

Danier, a Canadian Leather company, was gracious and wonderful in bringing filmmaker Jeth Weinrich along to both create a series of ethereal romantic films for their brand, but also follow his friend Raphael Mazzucco on one more adventure. We will be sharing all the wealth of stories and images here and these are just a little tease of what's to come.

Stills From Iceland

As the days continue redworld and Jeth Weinrich will be posting news, clips, and images from all their current projects but especially Beautiful Deep, a film about Raphael Mazzucco.
